Top 3 Voted AI Agents

Every owner shared one real result from the last 90 days. These are the three the room chose to go deep on.

The cold-email prospecting agent that closed $400K in contracts

Oscar Hidalgo · CG Service Pros & Vindex Consulting

2 × $200K+ projects · 10–20 emails/day · ~$500 setup, under $30/month to run

The problemYears of manual outreach to apartment property managers for Austin Energy's multifamily rebate program — huge 400-unit projects, all prospected by hand.

Oscar built the prospect list first: a data platform gave him every apartment complex that could qualify for the program, and he layered on his own history of completed projects. Then he onboarded the agent like a real hire. Ali got her own Microsoft 365 identity and email on the company domain, a cold-email skill Oscar found rather than wrote — all-lowercase two-word subject lines that read like internal mail — and the Apollo MCP to enrich every contact so the email lands with the right person. A cron job wakes her at 12:30 every night: she checks the list, researches the property and its owners, writes a customized email, sends it, CCs Oscar, and follows up every other day until a meeting books. She sends only 10–20 a day on purpose — but one landed property manager often brings a 15-property portfolio with them. Oscar runs her on Hermes hosted on an $8/month VPS so she never sleeps when his laptop does, with OpenRouter as the brain.

What they built
  • Gave the agent a real employee identity — her own Microsoft 365 user and email, never his own
  • Installed a proven cold-email skill instead of writing one — lowercase two-word subject lines doubled as an open-rate hack
  • Apollo MCP enriches every contact so outreach hits the actual decision maker
  • Nightly cron: research → customized email → CC Oscar → follow-up every other day until the meeting books
Outcome

Two projects landed worth $200–300K each, and the entire rebate department's outreach now runs on autopilot every weekday.

The stack
The playbook: build it yourself
  1. Buy the prospect data once: pull every target in your niche from a data platform (Oscar's list of qualifying apartment complexes cost ~$400–500, one time).
  2. Create the agent a real identity: a dedicated Microsoft 365 user with its own email on your domain — never your own inbox.
  3. Install a proven cold-email skill instead of writing one (his uses all-lowercase, two-word subject lines that read like internal mail).
  4. Connect the Apollo MCP so every contact is enriched to the actual decision-maker's address.
  5. Schedule a nightly cron (Oscar runs 12:30 AM): check the list, research the prospect, send one customized email, CC yourself, follow up every other day.
  6. Cap volume at 10–20 emails a day to protect deliverability, and host on an $8/month VPS so it runs when your laptop doesn't.
Hand it to your AI employee
You are my new outbound-sales employee, modeled on a build shared at the Agentic Society Mastermind (July 2026). Your job: book qualified sales calls for my business on autopilot. Before building anything, interview me for: (1) my ideal customer profile and where a list of them lives, (2) my offer and proof points, (3) the email domain and sending identity I will create for you — you get your own mailbox, never mine. Then implement: a nightly scheduled job that picks the next 10–20 prospects, researches each one, enriches contact data via the Apollo MCP (or asks me for an alternative), writes a short customized email with a lowercase two-word subject line that reads like internal mail, sends it, CCs me, and follows up every other day until a meeting books or they decline. Operate read-only for the first week and show me every draft before sending; after I approve your quality, request send permissions. Track everything in a simple log I can audit. Hard rules: never exceed 20 sends/day, never touch money, never email anyone who asked to stop.

Takeaway Treat a new agent like a new intern: their own email, their own limited toolset, read-only first — and borrow skills other people already perfected instead of training everything yourself.

The video idea generator behind 4–5 posts a day and 3M monthly views

Sagun Sedai · Real Austin Report

~3M views/month · 66 straight weekly newsletters · 4–5 posts/day

The problemCovering everything happening in Austin alone meant hours of daily research — and consistency, the thing that actually grows an audience, was impossible by hand.

Sagun fed Claude his entire editorial memory: the topics he covers, what has performed, the shape of a story that travels. Now an agent scrapes Austin's news sources — the Austin Business Journal, KXAN, anything local — hunting his keywords and the big-number stories, and a daily cron ranks the top three or four topics with a trending score based on his own historical traction. It writes him a script tuned to 90 seconds, because his data says that length wins. Sagun stays the face: he records the videos green-screen style in Instagram's own Edits app, posts once through Metricool which fans it out to every platform, four to five times a day. At the end of the week a second cron scrapes his own Instagram for the highest-engagement posts, assembles a top-five newsletter, and auto-sends it through beehiiv every Sunday at 9 AM — 66 weeks straight without missing.

What they built
  • Claude scrapes local news sources daily and ranks 3–4 topics with a virality score trained on his own history
  • Auto-generated 90-second scripts — the length his data says wins
  • One post into Metricool distributes to every platform, 4–5 times a day
  • A weekly cron scrapes his own top-engagement posts into a beehiiv newsletter that ships itself Sunday 9 AM
Outcome

Roughly 3 million views this month, a 40K-strong following, and a newsletter that has shipped 66 consecutive weeks — monetized through local business partnerships and newsletter sponsors.

The stack
The playbook: build it yourself
  1. Feed Claude your editorial memory: the topics you cover, what performed historically, and the exact shape of a post that travels in your niche.
  2. Point it at your sources (for Sagun: Austin Business Journal, KXAN, local feeds) and have a daily cron rank the top 3–4 stories with a trending score.
  3. Auto-generate a script per story, hard-capped at 90 seconds — the length his data says wins.
  4. Stay the face: record green-screen in Instagram's Edits app; post once through Metricool and let it fan out to every platform, 4–5× a day.
  5. Run a weekly cron that scrapes your own top-engagement posts, assembles a top-5 newsletter, and ships it through beehiiv every Sunday at 9 AM.
  6. Never miss: the machine's job is consistency (66 straight weeks); your job is showing up on camera.
Hand it to your AI employee
You are my new content-research employee, modeled on the Real Austin Report engine shared at the Agentic Society Mastermind (July 2026). Your job: hand me ready-to-record video scripts every morning and ship my newsletter every Sunday without me doing research. Interview me first for: (1) my niche and the 5–10 sources worth scraping daily, (2) links or data on my past posts so you can learn what performed, (3) my posting cadence and newsletter platform. Then implement: a daily scheduled job that scrapes my sources, scores the top 3–4 topics by likely engagement against my history, and writes me a spoken-word script for each capped at 90 seconds; plus a weekly job that pulls my own highest-engagement posts, assembles a top-5 newsletter with my CTAs, and stages it for Sunday 9 AM delivery. I record and approve — you research, rank, script, and stage. Log every topic you chose and why so I can tune your taste.

Takeaway AI owns the research, ranking, and scripting; the human stays on camera and in the community. Whatever the most human job in your business is — that one is yours.

AI agent avatars that join your team's video meetings

~10 hours total build · 3–10s real-time latency · 100% local

The problemA second brain you can only text is still one-way. Justin wanted real-time, two-way working sessions with his AI team — out of the terminal, out of chat.

Building on the hive-mind second brain he showed at the last mastermind — every data source in his business, local on his machine — Justin used Fable to build his own internal Zoom-style meeting room in a single day: about three hours of planning with CT's Even Better If loops, then six to seven hours to one-shot the build. His role-based agents join as HeyGen avatars whose faces are mapped to their responses in real time, three to ten seconds of latency, running local so nothing round-trips the internet. Instead of delegating one task at a time in a chat window, he calls a meeting: every department lead agent in one room, giving him a live brief, taking direction, pushing back with personality. Each agent gets role-scoped access to the second brain — a genius in its own lane, not an omniscient risk — and because the agents hold real execution power, his human team isn't invited yet.

What they built
  • Planned for 3 hours with EBI loops, then one-shot the build in 6–7 hours with Fable
  • HeyGen avatars with real-time face mapping — 3–10 second latency, fully local
  • Role-based agents with scoped access to the second brain — each a genius in its own lane
  • Meetings replace task delegation: live briefs, direction, and pushback in one room
Outcome

He now runs live strategy meetings with his entire AI leadership team — a two-way conversation instead of a one-way chat log.

The stack
The playbook: build it yourself
  1. Build the second brain first: every business data source in one local place, organized so it can be scoped by role.
  2. Define role-based agents (CMO, CFO, ops lead…) and give each one access to only its lane of the second brain — a genius in its own lane, not an omniscient risk.
  3. Plan for ~3 hours using CT's Even Better If loops (ebiskill.com) until the spec is airtight — then one-shot the build in a single 6–7 hour session.
  4. Create a HeyGen avatar per agent ($19+/mo) with real-time face mapping — or skip the faces and use static portraits.
  5. Keep everything local: no internet round-trips means 3–10 second latency and a smaller attack surface.
  6. Run it like a meeting: call the room, take the brief, give direction, let them push back. Keep your human team out until permissions are hardened.
Hand it to your AI employee
You are helping me build a real-time meeting room for my AI team, modeled on Justin Day's build from the Agentic Society Mastermind (July 2026). The goal: instead of one-way chat, I hold live two-way video meetings with role-based AI employees who each know their part of my business. Phase 1 — interview me: what are my business's departments, what data sources exist for each, and which 3–5 roles should attend my first meeting? Phase 2 — plan: run an Even Better If loop on the architecture (a local second brain with role-scoped access; each agent sees only its lane) until the plan is airtight; show it to me before building. Phase 3 — build local-first: a meeting interface where each role-agent joins with an avatar (HeyGen or static portrait), receives my voice, and responds in character with pushback, not yes-answers. Hard rules: everything runs and stays local; agents get role-scoped read access only until I explicitly grant write; my human team gets no access in v1.

Takeaway Plan for hours, one-shot the build. And local-first isn't just faster — it's the security model.

Questions from the room

Asked out loud in the room, answered by the people doing it. Straight from the transcript.

How does an outreach agent send email without wrecking deliverability?

Give the agent its own real mailbox on your domain — a full Microsoft 365 user, never your personal inbox — and keep volume deliberately low at 10–20 sends a day. The lowercase two-word subject lines that read like internal mail more than doubled open rates. One landed property manager often brings a 15-property portfolio, so low volume still compounds.

Oscar Hidalgo

I haven't gone down the agent-harness rabbit hole. What's the actual benefit over plain Claude?

Two things: 24/7 uptime — hosted on an $8/month VPS, the agent works when your laptop is closed — and multiple named employees with different personalities and toolsets. Oscar runs Ali (customer service and outreach) and Kai (QuickBooks + Airtable forecasting) as genuinely different colleagues. If your computer never sleeps, plain Claude with a schedule gets you most of the way.

Oscar Hidalgo

How do I get from level 2 to level 3 — agents that run without me?

Use Claude itself as your setup partner. Feed it the docs of whatever harness you're adopting and say 'I'm trying to set this up — walk me through it.' It will write the config files, create the agent's soul, and explain every term you don't know. When you're non-technical, just ask it everything.

Oscar Hidalgo

What does it actually cost to run an autonomous agent?

Oscar's full outreach employee: about $500 one-time for prospect data, then under $30/month to run — an $8 VPS plus a $20 OpenRouter plan — with Apollo at $100/month shared across the business. Justin's avatar meeting room: HeyGen from $19/month. These are intern prices for employee output.

How do you make sure your agents can't lock you out of your own company?

Treat them as employees, not admins. No agent ever gets admin rights — normal user access to exactly the tools it needs, chosen scope-by-scope when you connect each MCP. Put hard rules in the agent's boot instructions: nothing involving money and no outbound email without approval. And if you do get locked out, it's usually not the agent — it's something malicious you installed into it.

the security roundtable

Should I install skills from public registries?

Mostly no — most have no listing criteria, so you can't know if someone embedded a prompt injection. When you find a skill you like, have Claude rebuild your own auditable version from its features. Run new skills past a red-team agent, and apply Wilson's rule: if you wouldn't put it on a Times Square billboard, it doesn't go in your LLM.

Wilson Smith & the room

How do you publish meeting content safely — even under HIPAA?

Put a redaction skill in the publishing pipeline: before anything goes live it removes layoffs, team matters, and financial details unless there's explicit permission — it even caught and redacted a member's child's name automatically. For medical conversations, run a local model to redact first so only clean text ever reaches the cloud.

Austin Distel

What does a CEO actually need to know about AI — without writing code?

Not the tools — the possibilities. Learn to communicate with AI the way you learned to brief a developer, hire people who speak the language natively (does your next ad buyer talk about Claude dashboards and MCPs?), and apply who-not-how to agents exactly like people. Then be ruthless about the 80% of AI activity that's a distraction and invest in the 20% that moves the bottom line.

Geoff Woods & Austin Distel

Should AI answer my DMs?

Keep the most human job human. An AI setter on your personal profile breaks trust the moment it says the wrong thing to the right person — if a bot ever does the talking, it belongs on the company account, clearly labeled. For overwhelm, add one qualification step ('send me an email here') — it filters 90% of the people who were never going to move.
